:The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the article below. <span style="color:red">Please do not modify it.</span> Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the article's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page.

The result was keep. Gaillard is a co-founder of Molecular Reality Corporation, which has its own article, and company records document that. Those arguing to delete are right that sources outside the company say almost nothing about him: the five press pieces found during the discussion mention him in passing. But the article says nothing its sources do not support, and a low profile is not a deletion criterion. A merge can be proposed again on the article's talk page. :Charles Gaillard (talk links)
Biography of a living person whose only source for anything about him is the records of the company he co-founded. I found no independent source that says more than that he co-founded it. Notability is not inherited from the company, and the general notability guideline asks for significant coverage in independent sources. A redirect to Molecular Reality Corporation would be a reasonable alternative. Stern layer (talk) 14:27, 9 October 2026 (UTC)

*Delete per nom. One source, and the source is the company. Silanol (talk) 03:15, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
*:Company records are a primary source, and a primary source is acceptable for a plain fact such as who founded a company. The article does not go beyond plain facts. Vernier gain (talk) 16:40, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
*Keep. He is one of the two founders of the company that publishes this encyclopedia, and the article states only what its sources state. Vernier gain (talk) 16:44, 10 October 2026 (UTC)
*Our only subject-specific notability guideline is Molecupedia:Notability (molecules), under which a molecule that has passed through a pore on the live stream is presumed notable. It does not cover people, so the general guideline applies. Zeptomole (talk) 09:02, 11 October 2026 (UTC)
*:It does not cover companies either, and nobody has nominated Molecular Reality Corporation. Vernier gain (talk) 13:37, 11 October 2026 (UTC)
*Merge to Molecular Reality Corporation#Founders and staff. That section already has the two facts about him, with the same citation. Salt bridge (talk) 21:50, 13 October 2026 (UTC)

*Weak delete. When I reviewed this for DYK, company records were the only source for anything about him, and they still are. Faradaic (talk) 08:12, 17 October 2026 (UTC)
*He is mentioned outside the company's own pages, though only in passing. The Coulter Courier, Brownian Business Daily, Signal & Noise and Debye Length each say, in one sentence, that he and Kent Kemmish founded the company in 2018. None of them says anything else about him. *Keep. He is named as a founder in the infobox of Molecular Reality Corporation and in five press pieces, so readers will search for him, and this article tells them what can be verified. Gigaseal (talk) 15:58, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
*Keep. The policy on biographies of living persons requires that what we say about him be sourced, and it is. Nothing in the article is contentious. Nernstian (talk) 07:33, 22 October 2026 (UTC)
